New Grand Daughter

My son lives in Newbury with his partner and we were visiting him, and his new baby - our first grandchild. This hotel was comfortable, clean and has a great swimming pool - we purchased a classic room just for one night which was lovely but the view was at the back of the hotel nothing nice, and there was a £40 difference to have a view, you think for one night it would not matter - but somehow it does. I liked the hotel and the staff were very helpful, and for one night every few weeks, I would stop here again, the location is fine, and Newbury is a lovely town we have yet to explore.

Continental Feel in an English Retreat

On arrival of the grand entrance, we did wonder if we had come to the right place after all. It seemed very posh and too upmarket for us, but we decided to embraced the experience anyway. after the smooth and effiecient check in, we made our way through the elegant lounge/reception area towards our double executive room, which to be honest, was a bit more 'standard' than 'executive' as far as the rest of the hotel goes, but this was good enough for us. Infact this was the only slight let down from the entire weekend. The highlight of the weekend was without a doubt the deliciously tempting array of evening cuisine,wonderfully created by what I would consider one of the greatest chefs I have had te pleasure to experience. This was also helped along by the most amazing customer service I have ever recieved, all living up to that continental feeling as each of the staff members apeared to come from a different part of the world, Egypt, France, even Wolverhampton in the bar! The hotel really was second to none as far as the staff are concerned, as without them the weekend would of just been average.
