Park Royal Hotel, nr Warrington

The worst part of our break was that the heating boiler had broken done and we only had minimal heating on a winter weekend. I would assume that the cold water in the swimming pool was also a result of this. Where the hotel can be improved is in the training of there junior staff where customer service is concerned. Our problem was with a member of the bar staff. We wished to have an evening drink. We were the only people in the bar area. It took some time for the bar staff to acknowledge our presence and they were busy and were asked to sit down and our order would then be taken. After 10 mins waiting we then decided that our order was obviously not worth getting and left the room.

The Hotel

We have stayed in this hotel before. It is generally very good but not family friendly. Children have a very limited time that they are allowed to use the pool and as a result my son only had one very short swim, despite being at the hotel for two nights. The bar snacks in the past have been good but on this visit were very disappointing. The lady who runs the restaurant for breakfast is excellent and remembered my son from a past visit and the fact that he plays chess
