My wife and I took a night away in the spa town of Cheltenham to relax (me) and shop (Kari) The Queens proved ideal on both counts. I took up the offer from the hotel to use the spa facilities at Cheltenham College for girls, whilst Kari launched into the local shops. There is a great selection of boutique stores immediately behind the hotel. When we met back up for afternoon tea there were many bags to prove that Cheltenham offered more than most of the generic shopping centres across the country. Afternoon Tea was a real treat. Home made scones, clotted cream and jams with lots else besides. What a great tradition! To complete our stay we had a delicious breakfast the following morning in the sun-drenched conservatory restaurant. Nice.

Began our girlie visit with breakfast at Cafe Rouge just 2 minutes walk from the hotel. The rooms in the hotel were spacious, elegant and individual. Lots of super shops, restaurants and bars in a lovely setting. Took a very pleasant drive out to a couple of villages in the Cotswolds which are very pretty, but do get busy. Made the mistake of trying to visit Stow on the wold when the horse fair was on. That's a no no if you want elegance and good shops as it was teeming with people and police. A super three days for my daughter and i.

I went to Sheffield because my Son had to attend a medical appointment. Using Superbreak brochure allows me to find a good hotel at a more competitive price than booking with the Hotel directly.
