Romantic Break at Barcelo Walton

This was a superb hotel in fantastic grounds. It was an idyllic setting for a romantic getaway for our anniversary. The staff could not have been more helpful or pleasant. The room was excellent and the food in the Orangery Restaurant onsite was absolutely delightful. We also made good use of the wonderful spa facilities. The only slight criticism I could offer is that from our accommodation in the Orchard mews, we had to go outside to get to the reception, spa and bar/restaurant, which in bad weather is not ideal, but the hotel overall was so great it was worth putting up with (and they did provide umbrellas for guests to use) There were so many great things to do in the surrounding area, we simply didn't have time for everything in 2 days, but will definitely be returning to enable us to explore the area further.

We stayed at the Barcelo Walton Hotel which although several miles outside Stratford was in a beautiful location. Very good value, fantastic food and excellent helpful staff at the hotel, couldn't fault it except it was impossible for us to get to the restaurant/bar without going outside and it was pouring most of the weekend. Stratford is a great area to visit, plenty to do and see and the countryside is beautiful and unspoilt.
